Description Recap:  
POSITION: Technology Projects Coordinator  
 
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Provide information technology support for agency including troubleshooting problems and implementing projects. Utilize excellent organizational, communication, and clerical skills to insure that all deadlines and goals are met in a professional manner. This is a full-time, exempt position.  
 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:  
I. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT  
A. Provide oversight of computer maintenance and upkeep as the Systems Administrator.  
B. Coordinate solicitation of repairs and purchases from outside contractors with appropriate approval of management and within budgetary constraints.  
C. Oversee changes to hardware and software.  
D. Insure that virus protections are current.  
E. Manage software licenses.  
F. Maintain software and hardware inventory and controls.  
G. Assess and make appropriate determinations for use of donated computers. Insure that computer parts do not clutter facilities.  
 
II. ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT  
A. Maintain and update agency website.  
B. Oversee preparation of program and other materials for annual Silent Auction fundraiser.  
C. Produce agency newsletter three times annually with participation from program staff.  
D. Produce annual holiday solicitation letter with input from Executive Director.  
E. Review contracts to insure policy compliance and continually update Employee Handbook as needed. Prepare materials to secure board approval for changes.  
F. Maintain agency equipment inventory.  
G. Produce Annual Report.  
H. Coordinate other projects such as database conversions.  
I. Perform additional administrative duties as needed.  
 
III. MISCELLANEOUS  
A. Assist Administrative Team with projects as they arise.  
B. Attend and participate in Administrative Team and agency staff meetings as directed by Director of Operations.  
C. Document all services provided in a timely manner using approved procedures.  
D. Perform job duties in accordance with approved agency policies and procedures.  
E. Provide on-call services for Center as necessary to insure 24-hour availability of quality services.  
F. Participate in Advocate Training as requested.  
G. Work on coordinated agency efforts to increase the communitys understanding abuse issues.  
H. Attend trainings approved by Director of Operations to maintain proficiency.  
I. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations and Executive Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:  
Must be self-motivated, self-confident, results oriented and maintain high moral and ethical standards.  
Must be committed to agencys mission. Must demonstrate proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, and FrontPage and have aptitude for troubleshooting PC hardware and software problems.  
Must utilize excellent organizational, clerical and communication skills.  
Ability to read, write and converse in English. Ability to read, write and converse in Spanish preferred.  
Ability to remain calm under stress and have the emotional and physical stamina to deal with a variety of stressful situations. Ability to perform multitasks, responding to telephones, correspondence and other auditory and visual stimulation.  
Must be able to tolerate sitting or standing. Must be proficient in using IBM compatible microcomputers, telephones, cell telephones, shredders, and facsimile machines.

The Washington Center is pleased to announce an opportunity for students to participate in a fully-funded (plus stipend) internship program with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Selected students will have the opportunity to intern for FAA offices and participate in an experiential training program. Student participants will gain relevant skills and knowledge, explore career options within the Department of Transportation and other federal agencies, and develop a greater awareness of the role of the federal government.  
 
Internship sites for the fall 2009 semester are in Washington, D.C.  
 
Qualifications  
Be a currently enrolled student in an accredited college or university  
Be of junior status or above (60 academic credit hours) at the time of the internship  
Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0  
Be a U.S. citizen  
Complete all components of the application packet  
All students who meet these criteria are eligible to apply; however, Native American and Asian American students, as well as students with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply

Compensation  
Selected students will receive The Washington Center program fee and housing fee at no charge and receive a substantial weekly stipend. Students have the option of living in fully-furnished housing facilities within blocks of the DC metro line. If students choose not to live in Washington Center provided housing, the stipend is increased. All stipends are based on a 36 hour work week and payroll is distributed on the 15th and 30th of each month. The Washington Center is the official employer and must have the I-9 and W-4 tax forms on file. Direct deposit is available.

Application Deadline will remain open until positions are filled. Positions are competitive and students are encourage to apply as soon as possible.
