A student can receive one credit hour for an internship by enrolling in the internship course, CS 4100. This course is for computer science majors and minors only. Registration in this course requires pre-approval by the Chair of the Department of Computer Science. Interested students must set up an appointment to meet with the Chair by contacting the chair´s assistant (at 245-3409 or 
).
The Department of Computer Science encourages students to have internships. Students can find internships directly. Career Services at Texas State can also assist in finding internships. When the department receives a notice from industry for an internship job opening, the job notice is usually posted to the department´s message board for students to see. It is the students´ responsibility to contact the employer to find internships. The department and Career Services can only assist in this regard.
