- Positions: 15 to 20
- Requirements: open to both graduate and undergraduate students. Prefer
computer science majors or minors.
- The Computer Science labs support several operating systems and networks, including UNIX (Linux, Solaris), and Windows. Lab assistants primarily help introductory computer science students complete computer literacy assignments using Windows, Microsoft Office, and the Internet, but they also assist computer science students with programming assignments. They also install, troubleshoot, and configure software and hardware in support of the network administrator and lab coordinators. Lab assistants work flexible, convenient, part time hours, with excellent opportunities to develop troubleshooting and communication skills. Non-resident lab assistants may qualify for instate tuition benefits.

- Requirements: open to both graduate and undergraduate students. Prefer
computer science majors or minors.
- Tutors are responsible for helping CS students with programming. Tutors hold scheduled office hours and cater to C++ courses such CS1318, CS2308 & CS3358.

- Positions: 7 to 10
- Requirements: open to both graduate and undergraduate students, prefer students who have completed CS 1308.
- Instructional Assistants are responsible for teaching computer literacy labs consisting of approximately twenty students per lab. Teaching duties include guiding students to completion of lab assignments in Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint and web publishing. Additionally, lab instructors are required to provide assistance and instruction for creating web pages, news groups, and e-mail. Instructional Assistants are expected to hold office hours, grade lab assignments, attend meetings, and to perform other duties as requested by the instructors of record for Computer Science 1308. Non-resident Instructional Assistants may qualify for instate tuition benefits.

- Positions: 1 to 3
- Requirements: open to both graduate and undergraduate students who have completed CS 3409.
- Instructional assistants are responsible for teaching computer architecture labs consisting of approximately eighteen students per lab. Teaching duties include providing instruction, preparing and cleaning the lab, maintaining supplies and equipment, guiding students to completion of lab assignments, and other duties as assigned by the instructor of record for Computer Science 3409. Non-resident lab instructors may qualify for instate tuition benefits.

- Positions: 5 to 12
- Requirements: open to both graduate and undergraduate students, preference given to students who have completed the course(s) for which they wish to grade.
- Graders are hired for Computer Science 1308, 1318, 2308, 3358, 4378Q and other undergraduate level courses. Graders are responsible for grading student work according to the instructors' specifications and for recording those grades on spreadsheets or in databases. Working hours are very flexible and most assignments can be completed from the grader's home.

- Regular Wage
- Positions: 1 to 5
- Requirements: open to both graduate and undergraduate students.
- Job duties and functions vary depending on the area for which the student is hired. Past assignments have included general office help, bulk mailings, database design, data entry, lab work, and web-page design. Contact the CS Department administrative assistant for more information about available positions.
- Work Study
- Positions: 2 to 10
- Requirements: open to both graduate and undergraduate students who are awarded the Federal Work Study program
- Students must apply for the Federal Work Study program through the financial aid office for each year and summer session for which they wish to work under the Work Study program. (Applications are available from the Financial Aid Office.) Only those students who are awarded work study may be hired in a work study position. Students awarded work study are hired to perform general clerical and office duties in the CS Office including answering the phone, filing, typing, data entry, sorting mail, preparing brochures for distribution, and other duties as assigned by the administrative assistants. Some students are also assigned to work in the Computer Science Lab performing inventory, data entry, software installation, and other duties as assigned by the lab coordinator.
