CS Lab AccountsAccount RequestsExplained below are the various accounts and their eligibility criteria. If a course meets the eligibility students are automatically emailed the account information. If you did not receive any such email or if you have any question or would like to request an account for your project/s please send us a request using the Student Help Request Form Texas State NetID/Email Accounts
Every Texas State student will have an account in TxState Active Directory for login, email and file storage.
Visit http://www.css.txstate.edu/newuser.htm for account creation.
Linux and Web Server Accounts
This account is valid on the Linux machines in CS lab and for remote login into CS secure shell servers.
This account is also an account on the department's web server which can accessed using www.cs.txstate.edu/~username.
CS Solaris Accounts
This account is valid on the Solaris machines in CS lab and for remote login into CS secure shell servers.
Mysql Accounts
The CS lab provides MySQL database accounts to students enrolled in specific classes. Accounts for certain courses
are automatically generated. Students may request an account as long as they are enrolled in a CS course.
Oracle Accounts
The CS lab provides Oracle database accounts to students enrolled in specific classes. Accounts for certain courses
are automatically generated. Students may request an account as long as they are enrolled in a CS course.
Microsoft SQL Accounts
The CS lab provides Microsoft SQL database accounts to students enrolled in specific classes. Students may request an account as long as they are enrolled in a CS course.
BEA Weblogic
The CS lab provides BEA Weblogic server accounts to students enrolled in specific classes. Accounts for certain courses
are automatically generated. Students may request an account as long as they are enrolled in a CS course.
IIS
The CS lab provides IIS (Internet Information Services) webserver, media server and ftp server accounts to students enrolled in specific classes. Accounts for certain courses
are automatically generated. Students may request an account as long as they are enrolled in a CS course.
CVS
The CS lab provides CVS (Concurrent Versions System) accounts to students enrolled in specific classes.
Students may request an account as long as they are enrolled in a CS course. If you are requesting an account for a class group please send usernames
of all group members.
