CS 2315: Computer Ethics
CS 2318: Assembly Language
CS 3409: Fundamentals of Computer Technology

Catalog Description:
Use of fundamental hardware components. Topics include ALU\'s, single and multiple cycle datapath and control, RISC vs. CISC, pipelining, caches, I/O virtual memory, and related performance issues.

Grading:
Assignments: 20%
Project: 25%
Midterm 1: 15%
Midterm 2: 15%
Final: 25%

There will be homework assignments throughout the course. Some will be programming assignments

Homework assignments can be completed in groups. Only one paper should be submitted per group and that paper should list the names of all group members and their Texas State IDs. A group can have a maximum of 3 members.

Late work carries a grading penalty of 10% a day up to two days. After two days, the work will not be accepted.

Make up quizzes will not be offered under any circumstances.

Make up exams will not be offered except under exceptional conditions (i.e., a documented medical emergency). Talk to the instructor for details as to what constitutes an exceptional condition.

If you are dissatisfied with a grade you receive, you must submit your complaint in writing along with supporting evidence or arguments. We must receive this protest within one week of the date on which we first attempt to return the assignment to you. We will not consider any grade change request that does not fulfill this requirement. We will only consider requests for grade changes on work that was NOT completed in pencil.

Attendance Policy: Attendance is required.

Academic Honesty: You are expected to adhere to the University's Academic Honor Code as published by the University (see here). Unless otherwise stated, all assignments are to be done individually. You may discuss general strategies for attacking assignment problems with other students in the class but you must write your own code.

At the beginning of the semester, students with disabilities who need accommodations should notify the instructor by presenting a letter prepared by the Office of Disability Services.

Please make an attempt to inform me about absences due to religious holidays before the dates that must be missed. Any absence due to religious holidays must be documented upon your return to class.
