Short Bio Sampath Jayarathna is a second year Graduate student at the Human Computer Interaction Laboratory, advised by Dr. Oleg Komogortsev. Currently he is researching on the sensitivity analysis of the two-dimentional oculomobor plant mathematical model for saccadic eye movement trajecotory prediction.
Before coming to
Texas State for his MS degree in Computer Science, he earned his B.Sc. (First class honors) in
Computer Science from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, and B.IT. (External)
from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
His research
interests are in the area of Brain and Cognitive Science, Computational
Neuroscience, Human Oculomotor Plant Modeling, Man-Machine
interaction (MMI), and Artificial Life (Alife). Within this context he is currently
researching human vision & two-dimensional oculomotor plant saccadic
trajectory prediction with its applications toward Biometrics. He received prestige
Sigma Xi grant-in-aid of research grant “twice” for his proposals on
Biometric identification and mTBI patient’s deficiency in the oculomotor
function. Sampath is currently serving as the College of Science representative for the Associate Student Government -Graduate House and also serving as a Committee Member for the Equity and Access Committee, Texas State University - San Marcos. He is an associate member of Sigma Xi research society, and a graduate student member of IEEE CS, and ACM professional societies.
