I came from Shanghai, the biggest city in China. It covers a total area of over 6,300 square kilometers, with a population of 13 million.

I graduated from Shanghai University of Science and Technology (now Shanghai University) with a bachelor and a master degree in computer science. After graduation, I worked as a software engineer in East China Research Institute of Computer Technology. In 1995, I went to Florida Atlantic University for Ph.D. in computer engineering. In 1999, I became a faculty member at Computer Science Department at Texas State University.

I like travel, watching movies and all kinds of activities. I run every other day in the school recreation center. Sometimes I play badminton, tennis and table tennis with my colleagues.
